We Value Kids!

At Paseo we take seriously the responsibility to partner with parents in training and equipping the next generation of leaders to become the men and women God wants them to be, people who reflect God’s character and love to the world. To that end, our approach to Kids Ministry is focused on developing spiritual relationships between older and younger people in our church family, so older people can serve as examples of faithful living. We believe girls benefit from seeing how godly women live their lives and pursue Christ. In the same way, we believe boys learn godly masculinity from older men who model what it means to be a servant-hearted leader.

Our lessons provide opportunities to address the thoughts, attitudes, and values that shape a child’s behavior. Children memorize Scripture verses in order to take God’s truth deeper into their hearts and learn to identify and reject enemy lies. And they are given opportunities to apply truth they are learning both in the classroom and at home. Our prayer is that as these children grow in relationship, wisdom, and real-life application, they will learn to love and value the things that matter most to God and will gain a vision for the kind of spiritual life that God has in store for them should they choose to follow Him wholeheartedly.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Our Volunteers – We have amazing volunteers. Our volunteers range from high school students to moms and dads with elementary age kids, to retirees. They bring their love for Jesus, passion for teaching kids, and a wealth of life experiences.  All of our volunteers must consent to background checks and have established Paseo del Rey Church as their home church for a minimum of six months.

TO KEEP OUR KIDS SAFE:

  • Parents must sign children in on our Church Center App or at the check-in station near the Hub on the east side.
  • All students need to wear a nametag.  Preschool students must also receive a “kiddie keeper” security tag for the child and parent.
  • Students are not dismissed from the classroom without the presence of an authorized adult.
  • All classrooms and offices have good visibility, uncovered windows and easy accessibility.
  • No medication will be administered to any minor unless there is written authorization from the parent or guardian.
  • All volunteers are screened, interviewed, and background checked.  Volunteers are also trained on our Protection Policies and discipleship approach.
