Week 30: How to Bear Lasting Fruit
  -

“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” (John 15.5)

As Jesus prepared his disciples for his departure, he reminded them where their strength, purpose, and fruitfulness would be found. Not by working harder or being stronger, but by remaining connected to him.

Andrew and John explore Jesus’ teaching in John 15 and discuss what it means to abide in Christ. What kind of fruit is he looking for in our lives? And how can we stay connected to him in the midst of everyday life?

Highlights from this episode:

  1. Why remaining in Jesus is the source of a fruitful life
  2. What does Jesus mean by bearing fruit?
  3. Practical ways to stay connected to Christ every day

Listener question this week:

  • What did Jesus mean when he said his followers would do “greater works” than he did? And why doesn’t God always answer our prayers when we pray them “in Jesus’ name”? (John 14.12-14)
