Week 29: How Did Jesus Love His Disciples?
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13.34-35)
On the night before the cross, Jesus gathered with his disciples in the upper room and gave them one final command: love one another as I have loved you. But why did Jesus call this a new commandment? And what makes his example of love different from simply loving our neighbor?
Andrew and Corie explore John 13 and discuss how Jesus’ love for his disciples becomes the pattern for Christian community. They examine why this command stands at the center of discipleship, how believers become a witness to the world through genuine love, and what it means to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
