Make Us One

One with the Father one with the Spirit
One with the Son of God
One with our sister one with our brother
One fam’ly by the blood

Make us one make us one
Your will be done make us one

One heart with heaven
One mind connected
One body unified
Bind us together now and forever
Jesus be glorified

Make us one make us one
Let Your kingdom come make us one

House of the Lord

We worship the God who was
We worship the God who is
We worship the God
Who evermore will be
He opened the prison doors
He parted the raging sea
My God He holds the victory

There’s joy in the house of the Lord
There’s joy in the house of the Lord today
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise
There’s joy in the house of the Lord
Our God is surely in this place
And we won’t be quiet
We shout out Your praise

We sing to the God who heals
We sing to the God who saves
We sing to the God
Who always makes a way
‘Cause He hung up on that cross
Then He rose up from that grave
My God’s still rolling stones away

(‘Cause) we were the beggars
Now we’re royalty
We were the prisoners
Now we’re running free
We are forgiven, accepted
Redeemed by His grace
Let the house of the Lord sing praise

Sound of Adoration

When we were lost ones
You were the Shepherd
That carried us home
When we were prodigals
You ran to meet us with open arms
And we can’t hold back our praise

When we were refugees
You were the One who took us in
When we were enemies
You paid the price for all our sin
And we can’t hold back our praise

This is the sound of adoration
Oh how we love You, Jesus, we love You
You are the joy of all creation
Oh how we love You, Jesus, we love You

You are the Risen One
You conquered death and made a way
You sang our freedom song
Now we are dancing on our chains
And we can’t hold back our praise

By the cross, I am free
Your grace changes everything
I was blind now I see
Your grace changes everything

The Way

Through every battle
Through every heartbreak
Through every circumstance
I believe that
You are my fortress
Oh You are my portion
You are my hiding place
Oh I believe You are

The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are
The Way the Truth the Life
I believe You are

Through every blessing
Through every promise
Through every breath I take
I believe that
You are provider You are protector
You are the One I love, I believe You are

It’s a new horizon and I’m set on You
And You meet me here today
With mercies that are new
All my fears and doubts they can all come too
Because they can’t stay long
When I’m here with You

Praying for our Missionaries

Jonathan & Kristen Whitmore (Lucy and Lincoln) are on staff with Athletes in Action (AIA), a ministry of CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ). Jonathan is regional director for the Pacific Southwest region, which includes all of California, Arizona and Hawaii.  Kristen serves with Jonathan, helping to lead the AIA staff in their region. Their vision is to see a Christ-follower raised up on every athletic team in every college athletic department in CA, AZ and HI, so that every college athlete would know another college athlete who truly follows Jesus.

As The Whitmores and their AIA staff re-engage and transition back to in-person ministry over the summer, please pray for:

  • Wisdom to navigate any long-term effects of Covid isolation on the athletes (i.e. depression, apathy, etc.)
  • General wisdom as they re-engage in-person.  They are excited, but want to establish and maintain a sustainable pace and not try to do too much.
  • They are spending some focused time raising financial support for their ministry this summer.  Pray that the Lord brings in what they need.
  • Their kids are going to two new schools in the fall: Lucy will be attending middle school (7th grade), Lincoln will be attending pre-kindergarten at their neighborhood elementary school.  Pray for a good school experience.
Sermon Notes, May 9, 2021

Main Scripture
ACTS 2:42-47 – 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. 44 All the believers were together and had everything in common. 45 They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Other Scripture
ACTS 20:7-12 – On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people and, because he intended to leave the next day, kept on talking until midnight. 8 There were many lamps in the upstairs room where we were meeting. 9 Seated in a window was a young man named Eutychus, who was sinking into a deep sleep as Paul talked on and on. When he was sound asleep, he fell to the ground from the third story and was picked up dead. 10 Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!” 11 Then he went upstairs again and broke bread and ate. After talking until daylight, he left. 12 The people took the young man home alive and were greatly comforted.

MATTHEW 7:24-27 – 24 “Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

2 TIMOTHY 4:1-4 – 1 In the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who will judge the living and the dead, and in view of his appearing and his kingdom, I give you this charge: 2 Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.
